This is a tutorial on how to set up your avatar on the board:
First you will need to find a picture you want to use.
Once you've selected your desired picture you will need to resize it. I recommend using www.picmonkey.com (it's free, and you don't even have to register to use it!). Or, if you have a preferred photo editing site you could use that one instead.
Once you are on PicMonkey, select the "Edit your photo or drag it on over" option. Find your picture on your computer and upload it to PicMonkey.
Next, using the crop feature, select the portion of the picture you want to use. Make sure to click "Apply" to complete the cropping.
Next you need to resize the picture, so select the resizing feature. You will want to make the picture about 200 pixels at the most. (When resizing make sure the box "Keep Proportions" is selected). Once you click "Apply" and resizing is complete, save your picture somewhere easy to find. I always name my pictures something like "avi1" "avi2" etc. Just as a tip.
After you have saved your cropped & resized picture, go to www.tinypic.com. Select "Choos File", find your picture, and click open. Then click the green "Upload Now" button, and tinypic will ask you to type in a security code. Once you do that tinypic will take you to your uploaded photo. Click on your picture, this will take you to a new screen with your full size picture. Right click directly on your picture and select "Copy Image URL".
Come here ( www.ncis-los-angeles.proboards.com ) and go to your profile. Select "Modify Profile", then scroll down until you see "Avatar URL". Next to those words is an empty box. This is where you will right click, and paste the Image URL into this box.
Underneath this box are two other boxes titled "Avatar Width" and "Avatar Height" Type the number 100 in both boxes. This will make your picture larger!
Scroll to the bottom and make sure to click "Modify Profile" otherwise your changes will not save. And that should be it!
If you have any questions, concerns, or I need to make any clarifications, please feel free to ask! I don't bite, I promise.
