From TV Guide: Question: Linda Hunt leaving NCIS: LA will destroy it. It was suffering from the Deeks character and the juvenile dialogue written for him. With the loss of Hetty, little will be left to attract an audience. Miguel Ferrer has destroyed every series he has been a part of. With a deadpan delivery and zombie-like acting, it makes for painful watching. So long Kensi, G and Sam. It was nice knowing you. — BKMatt Roush: I'm not sure Miguel Ferrer deserves to be branded a show-killer, but I agree that losing Linda Hunt could be a deal-breaker for many fans. I assume this rant is in response to our reporting in our recent "Burning Questions Answered" issue. Here's how executive producer Shane Brennan addressed the situation: "Hetty's resigned. We'll see her in the opener, but she's no longer with NCIS. She's retired." And we also report that Assistant Director Granger (Ferrer) will take over in her absence. My reaction to this: We've seen Hetty quit before, and nothing in that item convinces me she's gone for good. This is the kind of game shows like this play between seasons to keep viewers interested, even at the risk of agitating them. So the best I can say for now (as is often the case) is: Stay tuned. (And if it does turn out Hunt is leaving: Bon voyage, Hetty. It's been grand.)Read the full article here.

I have a problem with much of this. First off the question is quite absurd if you ask me. I agree that Linda Hunt leaving the show will destroy it, however, what the hell is with the rest of the question? Season 2 and 3 were fantastic with the addition of Deeks and Nell. "Juvenile dialoge" really? Really? Deeks uses humor as a defense mechanism. It's part of his character. What the hell? That comment really made me angry.
Now back the the main point of the question, and the topic of the spoilers, we learned a few things from Matt's answer. First off: Hetty is resigned. For real this time. But is it going to last? I really doubt it. Next, we learn that Granger will take over in her absence. This guy bugs the crap out of me, so I can't say I'm looking forward to that too much. But in the end I think Hetty will return.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Here's a bit more info from Shane Brennan via TV Guide: Fans have been up in arms ever since beloved boss-lady Hetty (Linda Hunt) announced in the season finale of NCIS: Los Angeles that she was resigning, apparently to be replaced by Miguel Ferrer's Assistant Director Granger. Now executive producer Shane Brennan has broken his code of silence on the matter and cleared up the situation... in his own teasingly cryptic way.
"If there's one thing fans of the enigmatic Hetty Lange should know by now, she marches to her own drumbeat," Brennan tells TV Guide Magazine exclusively. "Her resignation at the end of Season 3 was shocking, but everything Hetty does, she does for a reason. Her fans are just going to have to trust her on this one. I can promise that fans will see Hetty in the opening episode of Season 4, doing something that she does better than anyone else."From TV Guide

I would be seriously shocked if Hetty didn't come back. She's too important to the show.
